Normal connection
- Connect the evoX device to your computer.
- Open evoX and verify the device status.
- Press a key and check that the physical input matches the app preview.
Permissions by system
Windows and macOS need no extra permission to connect the device. On Linux, access to the USB device requires a system rule: on first launch evoX offers to install this rule and asks once for your administrator password. After installation you may be asked to log out and back in and to plug the device in again. If you choose Later on the prompt, you are not asked again for the same release; if the device does not appear because of this, write to us through Support. The Accessibility permission on macOS is not needed for the device connection; it is needed
for the keyboard, text and mouse actions you assign to keys. Without the permission the device
connects and icons are drawn, but these actions do not work.
If the official app is holding the device
The official evoX app opens the HID device directly. Two apps cannot share physical control at the same time.1
Read the status
Instead of behaving as if the device were connected, evoX states that the official app is holding the device.
2
Take over control
Use the explicit takeover action in the interface.
3
Verify again
Check that the preview, key input and screen image match the physical device.
